CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUALIFICATION (To Advance To Semi-Finals)

Winner for each match-up is decided on a two game aggregate score with each team hosting one game. The first leg matches will be played on April 5 & 6, 2005, and the second leg matches will be played on April 12 & 13, 2005.

AC MILAN (Italy) -150 over Inter Milan (Italy)
CHELSEA (England) -175 over Bayern Munich (Germany)
JUVENTUS (Italy) -200 over Liverpool (England)

These selections are to ADVANCE TO THE CL SEMI-FINALS and NOT for the individual games.

Totally agree with you on Chelsea, especially after Bayern Munich lost Kluivert. That game will get ugly. Expect a 2-3 goal victory for the Blues.

These selections are for the winner of the 2-game (home & home), total score match-up for this round. Kluivert plays for Newcastle United but Bayern Munich does have a big problem at the striker position.

The second round of these CL matchups should prove to be a good gambling opportunity as teams that fall behind in the first game will have the motivation to do well in the second.

LYON -130 over PSV Eindhoven
Lyon's goal scoring machine, Wiltord, was rested and did not see any action this weekend in preparation for this game. He should be firing on all cylinders and Lyon will get the win at home.

Surprise goal by PSV ties it late. Lyon should of had at least 3 goals today.

The BIG pick for Juventus to ADVANCE to the Semi-Final round past Liverpool is looking great though. A 1-0 win for the Italian team at home will see Juventus go through.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
(1st Leg Single Game Selections)

AC MILAN +125 over Inter Milan
AC Milan have had Inter's number for quite some time now and the loss of Adriano will make things even worse for Inter. AC Milan will welcome back Shevchenko after recovering from his fractured cheek bone and he should impress today. This Milan Derby will be very intense so expect the more experienced team to come away with the victory - that team is AC Milan.

CHELSEA -130 over Bayern Munich
Both teams have some critical injuries to contend with but Munich's lack of fire power at the striker position will be the difference today. Another interesting component to this game at Stamford Bridge is that Chelsea's manager, Jose Mourinho, has been banned by UEFA because of what went on in the previous round against Barcelona. Expect Chelsea to use the absence of their coach as inspiration to play at an even higher level than they normally do.

I wish you luck with AC Milan but I see two successive draws in the Milan derby. Inter Milan are the masters of playing for the draw, evidenced by their unreal draw total. This season they have drawn in 60% of their games. Although AC Milan is a better team, I can't see them beating Inter. Good luck to you MM

Although Inter have DRAWN in 60% of their games, VERY FEW have been scoreless draws. I think Inter will have to score in order to achieve a draw against AC Milan today. With Adriano not playing for Inter and the strong resolve of the AC Milan defence, it will be tough for Inter to find the back of the net.

2nd Leg Matches - Wednesday, April 12

All 3 of the Semi-Final Qualification bets look pretty good (top of thread). 2nd Leg Quarter- Final matches go off today.

CHELSEA (+1/2) -140 over Bayern Munich
Munich has already said that they will go forward at every opportunity in an effort to score goals. The German team is down by 2 so they will have to score but Chelsea will punish them if they concentrate too much on offence. Mourinho has brought the same defensive schemes to Chelsea that helped Porto win the Champions League last year and Chelsea have become one of the toughest teams in Europe to score on. Chelsea's counter attack is also very good and if the Munich players get too far forward Chelsea will make them pay with speed down the wings and a group of solid mid-fielders that are very familiar with scoring goals.

AC MILAN (pk) +100 over Inter Milan
Inter will have a few players in the line-up that missed the 1st Leg of this round. Among them is Inter's prolific goal scorer, Adriano. This gives Inter a better chance of finding the back of the net this time around but DEFENCE will be the theme of the day for the visitors. AC Milan have a comfortable 2-0 lead heading into today so you can expect that they will keep alot of their players behind the ball and only push forward when there is a good opportunity. Expect this to be a low scoring tight game with ALOT of play in the midfield.

Good Luck

Well, that was interesting. Chelsea blows the tie with a goal in the 5th minute of stoppage time and in Milan, we have ANARCHY.

With reference to the Milan game, all sportsbooks have there own rules when it comes to "ABANDONED MATCHES" but 99% will grade an Abandoned Game as NO PLAY.

CHELSEA ADVANCES to the Semi-Finals for a nice WINNER (top of thread).

AC MILAN will ADVANCE but it will not be official until UEFA does an investigation and makes a ruling.

More hijinks tomorrow with 2 more Champions League matches - stay tuned...

2nd Leg Matches - Wednesday, April 13

JUVENTUS -200 over Liverpool; JUVENTUS (-1) -110
Liverpool come into this match with a 2-1 advantage but the away goal for Juventus is HUGE because it means that they will advance with just a 1-0 win at home and this seems VERY likely. Liverpool are seriously depleted at the striker postition AND EVEN WORSE, Steven Gerrard will miss this game with a groin strain.
There are rumours everywhere that there will be trouble at this game as 4,000 Liverpool fans are travelling to Italy. A group of hard-line Juventus fans, called the "ULTRAS" are vowing revenge for the tragedy that took place in 1985 when these two teams met in the Champions League Filan in Belgium. Liverpool fans clashed with Juventus fans and 39 Juventus supporters died. The ULTRAS are spreading the word that the travelling Liverpool fans will pay for the lives that were lost 20 years ago saying things like "Now it's Liverpool's turn". Let's hope this game goes off without any more trouble in Italy.

LYON +190 over PSV Eindhoven
Lyon are the better team here and even though PSV snuck away from France with a DRAW from the first leg on a late goal, Lyon totally dominated the dutch team and you can expect more of the same in Holland. Lyon are the highest scoring team in this year's version of Champions League, netting 28 goals in just 9 games and they will open up this game with their potent offence giving the PSV back line fits.

Good Luck
